The history of JNN College of Engineering is marked by events that have made it synonymous with quality education. Established in 1980 by NES, the College is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi and is recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Government of Karnataka, being re-accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and accredited by Institution of Engineers (India). Set in a lush green environment of over fifty acres the college has every infrastructural facility that more than adequately, meets the requirements of around 3800 students and 400 staff members.
Infrastructure of JNNCE is being continuously developed. A huge, spacious and elegant New Library and Information Centre building with Digital Library is completed recently. Construction of both first phase and second phase of new Girls' Hostel building is completed. It is interesting to note that more than 12,000 graduates in various disciplines - Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, Information Science, Telecommunication Engineering and post graduation programmes of M.Tech, M.C.A. and M.B.A. and Ph.D and M.Sc (Engg.) by research in various disciplines have shown their professional acumen and are respected in industry, R&D, Government organizations & academic institutions in India and across the world. A new M.Tech programme in Power Electronics has been started from 2014-15.
The Centre for Human Resource Development at J.N.N. College of Engineering provides students with placement opportunities through a system of training, counseling and campus recruitments, ensuring that students tune their skills to the perfect environment. Every year a good number of students are placed in different reputed industries. JNNCE is ranked among the top 50 private technical institutions of India as per the research survey of THE WEEK Magazine in 2013 and among the top 75 technical institutions of India successively for the fifth year with 57th rank in India and 9th position in Karnataka in 2015 survey.
The selection rate of JNNCE by students during CET counseling for admissions is increasing considerably every year. European Commission has approved JNNCE as Associate Partner under the project "Svagata.eu" through the India Platform of Ghent University, Belgium and JNNCE would be funded for research and faculty & students study exchange programmes from eight different universities of Europe. JNNCE has signed MOU recently with Chinese institutions; Tianjin Polytechnic University and Tianjin Electronic Information Vocational Technology College for the education exchange of faculty, students and research projects. 2015 turned out to be a year of many achievements by the students and staff. Many useful innovative projects developed for the agricultural field and industries got wide recognition. Highly qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty & staff is the main strength of JNNCE.
