Introduction

The Computer Science and Engineering department was established in the year 1991. Since then, the department has held a position of pride in JNNCE. The Department offers B.E., and two PG courses M.Tech.(CSE) and M.Tech.(NIE). The department has well qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty to provide quality industry tuned education to the students. The Department Infrastructure fulfils the requirements of academics, supports research and learning skills on the latest technology in the industry. Special care is taken for each student by implementing mentor scheme. Apart from central library, books are issued to students using department library facility.

Computer Science department has a Research centre recognized by Visvesvaraya Technological University established 2003. Many research related activities such as conferences, workshops and training programs are organized by the department for both faculty and students. COSMOS- Computer Sc. Students forum in the department conducts lot of competitions for students to grab the extra -curricular talents hidden in students. Every year on an average 70% of students gets recruited in many reputed companies through campus placement cell.

Conducted 2 days workshop in the month of April 2018 for MTech CSE and Mtech ECE students under the banner of IEEE student chapter.

To be one of the pre-eminent department to provide technical and knowledge based education, utilizing the potential of computer science & engineering to meet the ever changing needs of industry and Society.

Mission

Moulding the students to meet the emerging challenges of industry and society, emphasizing on research and effective industry interaction to the development of state of the art technological infrastructure and faculty component.

PO - 2 Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
PO - 3 Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
PO - 4 Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
PO - 5 Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
PO - 6 Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
